P.S. My sister was upset I didn't mention her, so here's a shout-out to my homey back in rural PA. Yeah I love you baby! *muah*
What a long day yesterday! I didn't get home until after midnite because I was helping AP move all of her furniture and the rest of her stuff. I'm sick of moving, and I've barely started packing my own stuff! I can't wait to just have everything in one place.
One good thing that happened though, I got a check in the mail for $500. Even better, I didn't know it was coming so it was quite a nice surprise. Apparently Progressive has declared me not at fault for my first accident and received payment from the jackass that pulled out in front of me, since the $500 is my deductible. Too bad my insurance also happens to come due this month so it goes right back to them (they always seem to do that). But at least it's a dent in my ever-increasing debt.
I got my first housewarming gift ever yesterday! A brand-spanking new Twister set. Something I've wanted my entire life, now I can bust it out and put it in one of my nearly-empty rooms and call it the rec room (thanks to Frank for the idea). Though I'll have to be careful the room doesn't get too "recreational." Yeah AP I'm talking to you!

I just realized that microwaves are a luxury, not a necessity. So are showers for that matter. Maybe I should shower less.
My new goal in life: to furnish my new place with completely free furniture I've found on craigslist.org. This is my new favorite website. People in the city list all sorts of stuff for sale and that they're giving away. So far I've managed to get a couch and loveseat, blue plaid-ish in good shape, free for nothing (except for the manpower used to haul it away)! I've also found listings for beds, desks, and even dressers. Though the dresser was missing a drawer...I'm not sure what you're supposed to do about that. Maybe there's a listing from someone who has one drawer for sale.
So instead of packing last nite, AP and I went to dinner and wound up splitting a bottle of wine. Definitely one of the better ideas we've had lately. We've become so wrapped up in our moving, that all we've been doing is bitching to one another and showing how Type-A (read anal and psychotic) we truly are. We finally had a chance to have a little fun. It reinforces my belief that AP and I have a lot more in common than we realize. I think we're going to have a great time living together, as long as Danielle can keep us in line once in a while. Speaking of which, I can't wait to get back to corrupting Danielle, ah! the good ol' days!

I just happened to be carrying my pencil with me when I walked into the bathroom and it reminded me of a joke my Dad used to tell when I was a kid:
Did you hear the one about the constipated mathematician?
He worked it out with a pencil.
hahahahahaah *tear* ahem, excuse me. I got my great sense of humor from my Dad obviously.

Does anyone else think that the Audioslave's song "Like a Stone" sounds like the Dr. Who theme song in the middle? The instrumental part...?
I started packing up my stuff last nite. The dust decided to gang up on me and I had a nice allergy attack for an hour or so. My favorite part of moving, I must say. Speaking of which, I wonder if we'll need to buy a vaccuum cleaner for the new place, hmm... I just set up my utilities as well. Everyone take note of how responsible I am being. If I get any more responsible I might just turn into a real person and then where would we be. Not here, that's for certain.

Well I'm on hold right now with AT&T customer service. I'm finally changing my cell phone number to a local area code. This is a very important stage in my life. I will officially be a real person making DC my home. At least they're not charging me anything for this, which is surprising considering they usually try to screw you any way possible (like blood from a stone though at this point).
The most annoying part is when the recorded message comes on the line and tells you to keep waiting and how they appreciate you as a person- this one almost sounds like they've picked up the phone. They get your hopes up, and then they're dashed about two seconds later. Oh what a cruel world.

Well, my friend and new roommate AP showed me her blog last week and I thought it seemed like something fun to do while slacking off at work. Of course, I'm sure she has much more sophisticated and intelligent things to say than I do, but my friends usually like to hear my stories so I thought this would be the easiest way to tell everyone without repeating myself dozens of times. Though it's not like I actually know dozens of people who want to listen to me, most of them are probably just being polite. But at least this way, those people can just skim through...
